National Spinach Day

Yeah, it's a thing! How about we do a little Spinach praising today and talk about all the INCREDIBLE ways this plant works for the body!

šŸƒThis gorgeous leafy green is packed with LOTS of nutrients like:

Calcium

Iron

Zinc

Magnesium

Selenium proteins

Vitamins of the group A, C, B1, B6, E, K

šŸƒ Steamed, lightly boiled, or simply raw it can be a rich source of folic acid, which is recommended for pregnant women.

šŸƒ Because it's recognized as a great source in folic acid, which raises hemoglobin levels in the blood, it's known to be a good treatment for anemia. (Also strengthens the cardiovascular system!)

šŸƒ Thanks to it's richness in Vitamin C & K, spinach can also slow the reduction of the cerebral functions that might come with age. It's also known to be a source of an antioxidant that is responsible for influencing cognitive functions.

šŸƒ Has different phytonutrients and pigments that are known to not only protect the skin from harmful sun rays (like UV rays), but help REPAIR any of these damaged genes too. This means helping to prevent skin cancer!

šŸƒ Studies have shown that it can also aid in reducing the division and spreading of cancer cells in the body!

šŸƒ Vitamin K is known for strengthening the durability of our bones!

šŸƒ Spinach also encourages the development of red blood cells due to it's trace elements of iron, calcium, potassium and copper.

šŸƒ Also recommended for diabetics as it can stimulate insulin secretion from the pancreas.

šŸƒ Reduces inflammation making it helpful for ailments like asthma, gout, arthritis, or migraines.

šŸƒ Spinach is a rich source of magnesium & potassium which have great lowering effects in high blood pressure.

It's truly amazing what our food can do for our body, to me this plant baby definitely deserves it's own national holiday! Hope this article helps you enjoy your spinach a little bit more next time.

Stay cheesin' for no reason!
